Detection-as-a-Service powered by SLOC

Our partner Lufthansa Industry Solutions was at the 5G CMM Expo 2019 in October, where it presented its new “Detection-as-a-Service” solution. This service also uses SLOC devices to track exactly if and when damage has occurred.

With “Detection-as-a-Service,” Lufthansa Industry Solutions primarily wants to address participants in the entire supply chain, such as manufacturers, insurance companies, retailers, transport and logistics.

This solution is a cooperation between Lufthansa Industry Solutions, global security technology group Giesecke+Devrient (G+D), the blockchain specialist ubirch and SLOC. Our smart SLOC device records relevant information about potential damage and transmits it via NB-IoT. With their SIGNiT SIM cards, G+D ensures 100% secure and non-manipulable data transmission of the valuable IoT data. To achieve this, the innovative blockchain technology of the German startup ubirch was implemented on the SIM cards.

“Our damage detection sensors can identify exactly where damage has occurred in transit,” says Holger Schlüter, head of the IoT/Industry 4.0 business segment at Lufthansa Industry Solutions. “Our aspiration is to achieve significant ROI improvements with them.”

With this exciting technology, we will thus be able to provide our customers with absolutely secure data transmission in the future.
