NEW SERIES - NEW FUNCTIONS

SLOC 200 series, SOTA, geofencing, event-based transmission, and more.

With increasing quantities and due to the constructive feedback of our customers, our products and solutions are continuously improving. In the following newsletter we would like to inform you about the improvements of our new product series, as well as the new functions of the devices and our SLOC device management.

SLOC SERIE 200

Produkt-release

The first series of SLOC devices (series 100) has been on the market since 2018 and has undergone many tests and rollouts. We have used the findings of the last 2 years to further develop our SLOCs and can now offer the new 200 series.

This is available for the following products:

  • SLOC Waste Bin – 200
  • SLOC Skip & Container – 200
  • SLOC Load Carrier – 200
  • SLOC Productivity – 200 *
  • SLOC Tracker – 200 *

Overview of the changes

Improved ultrasonic measurement (level)

A significant change compared to series 100 is the optimization of the level measurement including the dead band with a second ultrasonic sensor and further hardware and software changes. Also, measurement into deeper vessels is now also possible.

Simplified wake-up process

The wake-up process of the SLOC device from sleep and transport mode has been simplified. Instead of a movement, they can now be set off and into sleep or transport mode by means of a magnet.

New radio module for NB-IoT & 2G
In order to be able to respond even better to the conditions of the local mobile radio reception, this series provides the option for SLOCs to transmit independently either with NB-IoT or with 2G.

Economical energy consumption
Due to the new radio module, more efficient hardware design and innovative sensors, the new series is even more economical in terms of energy consumption.

 

Better IP protection class (IP67)

The new series is certified to IP67 protection class. The devices are completely dust-tight and have full protection against contact. In addition, they are protected against strong jets of water and temporary submersion

Simple battery replacement
To ensure faster and easier battery replacement, especially during test phases*, a new connector has been developed inside the two housing parts.* shorter measurement and transmission intervals

NEW SOFTWARE & FIRMWARE FUNCTIONS

Funktions-release

Due to the increasing number and diversity of our customers, new areas of application for our SLOCs are also emerging. To meet these applications and the needs of our customers, we are also constantly developing our firmware and SLOC Device Management (Portal & App). These developments have resulted in new features, which are briefly described below.

Overview of the new functions

Settings Over The Air (SOTA)

To make the configuration of SLOCs even faster and easier, the Settings Over The Air feature is available as of firmware version 1.5.0. This allows single and mass configurations to be easily handled from SLOC Device Management without having to have the SLOC on site. This feature also offers the possibility to configure whole boxes at once – saving time, money and nerves.

Teach-in remote container

In waste management, various containers with different design variants are in circulation. In order to optimally determine the fill level for each variant, containers can easily be taught in remotely. The device is mounted in the container and automatically transmits all information to ensure the functionality of the fill level.

 

Event-based transmission

A fixed transmission interval is not useful for every use case, as there are also events that require immediate transmission. For this reason, our SLOCs can start a data transmission immediately when an event or threshold has been reached (e.g. a certain movement is detected in the stored logics).

Geofencing

With geo-zones, which are created via SLOC Device Management, the leaving or arrival of objects with SLOC tracking devices can be monitored in the areas desired by the customer.

 

Push messages

Event-based sending and geofencing may require a quick response from the customer to prevent problems. For this reason, push messages via email can now be enabled (in addition to our Rest API).

SLOC-groups

To keep an easy overview of the large number of SLOC devices, it is now possible to group them together. Using the filter function, the respective groups can then be quickly selected, viewed and analyzed.
