Customers of VLITEX who work with lithium-ion battery-powered tools and vehicles such as electric cars, electric forklifts, and electric screwdrivers face the risk that these batteries may, in rare cases, overheat and catch fire. An unusual heating or fire in a lithium-ion battery module requires an immediate response, as such fires are difficult to extinguish and can pose a significant danger to people and the environment.
SLOC Temperature Tracker
The SLOC Temperature Tracker provides information such as temperature, fire alerts, lid openings and position, location tracking, as well as shock and damage detection. With the SLOC Device, temperature is measured during the transport and storage of sensitive goods such as batteries, food products, or pharmaceuticals. Monitoring takes place throughout the entire delivery process to detect deviations such as overheating or ignition early on, enabling immediate action to prevent serious damage and quality loss, and to ensure the highest level of safety. Through electronic recording and analysis of data, efficiency can be increased and costs reduced.
VLITEX also utilizes the software tool SLOC Geo Analytics, which enables comprehensive real-time monitoring and location tracking of assets to maximize transparency and efficiency in operational processes. With this user-friendly solution, users can view the last known position of their devices as well as the battery status at any time, leading to improved control and safety.

The use of SLOC Devices by towing services for the quarantine of electric vehicles and in industry for monitoring electric forklifts and hazardous goods storage containers has led to significant improvements.
One of the greatest advances was the considerably shortened response time in the event of a battery fire. It can take many minutes to hours before a reacting lithium-ion battery—or a vehicle already emitting smoke or on fire—in a large warehouse is detected by smoke detectors. By placing the SLOC Devices in close proximity to the batteries, the system detects heat development early, before smoke appears. This gains valuable time—ranging from several minutes up to hours.
Furthermore, the use of SLOC Devices resulted in significant cost savings by reducing firefighting expenses, avoiding costly property damage, and lowering the CO2 footprint. Additionally, inventory loss decreased, cleanup labor hours were minimized, fewer vehicles and mileage were required, and customer complaints were significantly reduced.
